J-Kidd’s hot shooting wasn’t enough to keep the Mavericks winning streak alive as they fell Wednesday night to the Bucks, 133-99.

Jason continued his barrage from downtown, going 3-3 from deep, making him one of the few bright spots during a night where the Mavs defense was nowhere to be found.

After a decent start, the Mavs were up 30-22 after the first quarter and only allowed the Bucks to shoot 29.2% from the field.

From that point on, however, the Mavs lost their focus and allowed the Bucks to go on an unopposed shooting bonanza. The Bucks made 83.3% of their shots in the second quarter, and 73.7 percent in the third to quickly put the Mavs on their heels.

No. 2 tried to get the Mavs back in the game, as his 3-pointer tied up the game with 9:22 left.

But the Bucks answered with a 12-0 run that put the game out of reach for good.

Jason talked with the Dallas Morning News about the Mavs up-and-down defensive effort:

“We’re a Jekyll and Hyde right now. That’s the personality of this team. We show and sometimes we don’t show. We have to find out how to be consistent. When we don’t show, we’re not going to beat anybody.”

TIME FOR A CHANGE
With the season more than halfway over and the Mavs fighting for a playoff position, Jason knows that they can’t afford any more performances likes the one Wednesday against the Bucks.

NEXT UP
The Mavs look to rebound Friday night against the Detroit Pistons at 5 pm, which can be seen on ESPN.
