The Milwaukee Bucks had a nice bounce-back game Wednesday night against the Detroit Pistons after falling to the Washington Wizards on Monday.
The Bucks dominated from start to finish, outscoring Detroit in every quarter in route to a 119-94 victory.
“I think it was one from start to finish that our energy was high for 48 minutes,” head coach Jason Kidd said. “We moved the ball for 48 minutes and on the defensive end we got stops when we had to.”
Jabari Parker was the star for Milwaukee in this one, finishing the game with 31 points, nine rebounds and seven assists.
“When his confidence is high, he’s playing extremely well for us and we need him to play like he did tonight,” Kidd said. “Everybody is going to look at his points, but I thought his total game, being able to find guys, get guys open and then also on the defensive end I thought he did a really good job.”
Giannis Antetokounmpo also had another strong night, scoring 23 points, eight assists and five rebounds.
“I think everybody had something to do with it. I think Giannis is always going to have his fingerprints involved,” Kidd said. “He has the ball a lot of the time. We ask him to do a lot by making decisions for his teammates and also for himself, and I thought he did a really good job tonight.”
Four of the five Bucks starters, including Parker and Antetokounmpo, finished the game with double-digit points and all five had a positive plus-minus rating.
“I think the guys made a conscious effort of what we talked about at shootaround,” Jason said. “Just about moving the ball, getting guys touching the ball and then moving after you pass the ball and I thought we did that at a very high level tonight.”
The Pistons outrebounded Milwaukee by 11, but Kidd was pleased with his team’s effort on the glass and on the defensive end.
“Team rebounds were big for us. Jabari had nine. I thought he was big. He had the total game, both offense and defense, he was at a very high level. But I thought everybody made a conscious effort to come back and help,” J-Kidd said. “The guards came back and so when you do that you try to take away their strength and that was getting offensive rebounds and I thought we did a good job with that tonight.”
Up next, the Bucks travel to Minnesota to face off against the Timberwolves on Friday night.
