Dallas Mavericks point guard Jason Kidd has a simple philosophy to end the Mavericks’ recent turnover plague.

"We got to pass it to each other," he said, "and not the other team."

In the past 11 games, the Mavs are averaging 14.1 turnovers. Jason, however, is averaging a humble 2.2. J-Kidd told the Star Telegram that a little more focus would put his team back on track.

"I think it’s just lack of focus right now," he said. "We’re being a little careless with the ball."

The Mavericks have five games left in the regular season and are looking to stop the turnovers and grab the No. 2 seed in the Western Conference.

STILL UNDEFEATED
After leading USA Basketball to two Olympic gold medals, No. 2 has decided not to join the roster again in 2012.

But that doesn’t mean he won’t be around to cheer on his teammates and countrymen, as he told the Dallas Morning News.

"What I plan on doing is working on the other side, working with the coaching staff and hanging out with Coach K [Mike Krzyzewski]. That’ll be my new role, I suppose. I’m out. They got plenty of young guys."

Jason took home the gold in the Sydney Summer Games in 2000 and again in Beijing in 2008. After the 2008 games, Jason retired from international play with an unblemished record:

"I’m undefeated," Jason said then. "I told them I can retire now from international ball."

The Mavericks face the Memphis Grizzlies at American Airlines Center tonight at 7:30 CST on KTXA.
