When Jason Kidd flawlessly drained a three-pointer from the right wing against the New York Knicks on Saturday night, he set a new high water mark.
Jason’s triple was his 140th three-pointer of the season, a new-career high, accomplished in just his 65th game of the season. No. 2 has been on fire from three-point range all season, shooting 42 percent from downtown this season, another career high.
J-Kidd’s previous career high of 139 longshots came in 2006 when Jason wore a Nets jersey.
Jason put up 15 points, dished out six assists and pulled down five rebounds in the Saturday night loss.
“You said I couldn’t shoot,” he said with a smile to ESPN reporters on Saturday night.
Jason scored 12 of his 15 points from three on Saturday night on 4-7 from beyond the arc. He added a two-point basket and a 1-2 trip to the free throw line. But even though J-Kidd snagged a career high, the Mavericks fell to the Knicks 128-94, snapping their 13-game win streak.
