For the 10th time in his illustrious NBA career, Jason Kidd is an All-Star.

J-Kidd was named as an injury replacement for Lakers guard Kobe Bryant and will participate is his 9th NBA All-Star Game this Sunday night. Jason was also named to the All-Star team as a member of the 2006-2007 New Jersey Nets but did not play in the game.

The 2010 game will be extra-special for No. 2 as he’ll get to represent the home team Dallas Mavericks in the game which will be played at Cowboys Stadium in front of an expected 80,000 spectators.

The appearance will be Jason’s second time representing the Mavericks in the All-Star Game. After J-Kidd was drafted by Dallas back in 1994, he was selected as an All-Star Game starter in his second NBA season, 1995-1996. He has since represented the Phoenix Suns three times and the New Jersey Nets five times.

Jason will be a reserve in the 2010 game, but has started in five All-Star games throughout his career. In his previous eight appearances, J-Kidd has averaged 7.3 points per game, 8.5 assists per game, 2.9 steals per game and 3.6 rebounds per game.

No. 2 had his best career All-Star performance in 1999-2000 when he scored 11 points, dished out 14 assists, swiped four steals and grabbed five rebounds as a representative of the Phoenix Suns in a 137-126 West win. He was just as good four years later as a member of the New Jersey Nets when he came off the bench to score 14 points and dish out 10 assists, but the East couldn’t make up a big deficit in a 136-132 loss.

It’s been a memorable few years for J-Kidd, from a return to Dallas to Olympic Gold and now he’ll cap it all off at the All-Star Game in Dallas.

Watch Jason in the 2010 NBA All-Star Game on Sunday Night at 6 p.m. CST on TNT.
