Jason Kidd and his on-court chemistry with rookie guard Roddy Beaubois has been making some noise throughout the NBA.

The Kidd-to-Beaubois lob made its debut against the Milwaukee Bucks and fueled the Mavs to finish the first half with a 12-point lead.

The play is foolproof, as there is no signal for it. Other teams have yet to catch on. Beaubois told the Dallas Morning News about the play:

“We call it after a timeout or at the start of a quarter. We don’t have to say anything.”

J-Kidd also told the Dallas Morning News why the play has been so successful:

“All you have to do is have somebody who can throw a decent pass … it’s a great weapon if you’ve got a guy who can go up and get it like Roddy can.”

NO STRANGERS TO OVERTIME
The Kidd – Beaubois duo was one of the factors that propelled the Mavericks to yet another overtime victory. The Mavs edged the Spurs 99-94 in overtime, the second game in a row that’s come down to extra minutes.

J-Kidd had 11 boards, 8 assists, 4 steals and 2 points in the nail-biting win.
