Jason Kidd and the Dallas Mavericks have been working hard since the season opener, and are ready to face the Lakers and the Clippers this weekend in Los Angeles.
Although the Mavs have never won back-to-back games in LA, this is a challenge that J-Kidd and his teammates are looking forward to. No. 2 said the Mavs have the deepest roster of any team he’s ever played for.
Head coach Rick Carlisle sees this weekend as a great opportunity for J-Kidd and the rest of the team. As he told the Dallas News:
“None of these games are going to be easy … We didn’t play well the first game. We’ve worked hard the last couple days and our goal is to play better and win.”
THE WINNING COMBINATION
Jason and the Mavs are looking to even up their record Friday night against the Lakers. Dallas’ struggle in the season opener has caused some tinkering with the lineup. While looking for the winning combination, they might have to switch things up a bit. As J-Kidd told the Star Telegram:
“We’re going to have some funky lineups out there at times.”
Head coach Rick Carlisle expanded.
“Some nights you’re going to be fishing for somebody to give you a spark or somebody that can give you some toughness or defense or some shot-making or whatever. We’ve got a deep roster. I’m certainly not afraid to use everybody. But our core guys, we’re counting on them. We need them to play well.”
J-Kidd and his teammates will try anything to find that perfect lineup they know they have.
The Mavs face the defending champions Friday night at 9:30 and take on the Clippers Saturday night at 9:30. Both games can be seen on KTXA.
