Three players in the history of the NBA have hit triple-figures when it comes to triple-doubles: Oscar Robertson, Magic Johnson, and now, Jason Kidd.
Jason picked up his 100th triple-double of his career Wednesday night in a 111-98 victory over the New Orleans Hornets. New Orleans was the perfect foil for the achievement — Jason played his first game for Dallas this season against Chris Paul and the Hornets, and turned in a disappointing eight point, five assist, six rebound effort.
This time out, it was different, and so was the outcome. Twenty-seven points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists.
It was a vintage J-Kidd performance, and afterward, he joked with the Dallas Morning News about the accomplishment while still conveying just how meaningful it was.
"The good thing is that Dirk
[Nowitzki] is at one, so I’m ahead of him. But he told me he’s on his way. But that’s great company when you talk about Oscar and Magic. They changed the game. I’m happy to be in that company."

Jason’s next target on the all-time triple double list — his childhood idol, Magic, who ended his career with 138. Robertson remains, in all likelihood, safely out of reach at the top of the list with 181.
