Jason Kidd and the Mavs look to take on the injured Rockets Friday night at 6 pm and move the season series to 2-1 in their favor.

It’s not much of a rivalry as the Mavs in recent history have dominated the Rockets. The Mavs have won 19 of the last 26 meetings and 4 in a row at the Toyota Center.

J.Kidd, as well as the rest of the team, seems to like playing the Rockets. He has an average of 7.5 points, 9.5 assists, and 8 rebounds in the two games against them this season. Though the showdown might have lost a little bit of sizzle with the loss of McGrady for the season, that doesn’t mean that it has lost its importance for the Mavs post-season chances.

A win Friday night against a divisional foe is important, as Jason told USA Today:

“We’ve put ourselves in position that if we make a run, we can get a high seed.”

WEEK IN REVIEW
Jason came out of the All Star break looking completely refreshed with a double-double in his first game back against his old team the Nets. If you missed J.Kidd in action, here’s what happened:

2.15.2009 | By the Numbers, An All-Star
Jason is shown to be the 2nd best player in the league according to a system designed by Mark Cuban.

2.19.2009 | Exploding Out of the Break
J.Kidd ran circles around Devin Harris and the rest of the Nets as he had double digit assists for the 4th game in a row.

NEXT UP
You can watch the Mavs take on the Rockets on ESPN Friday night at 6 pm.
