No. 2 was brilliant on Tuesday night, nearly picking up his 102nd triple double his career, but his effort wasn’t enough to keep Dallas from losing in double OT to the archival Spurs.

The Mavericks (11-9) fell 133-126, but it wasn’t for lack of effort.
Jason finished with a season high 24 points, 12 assists and eight rebounds. He hit the 3-pointer to tie it up and send it into a second overtime, with 19.8 left in the first period of extra time, and with 2:10 left in the second OT, J-Kidd’s reverse gave Dallas a 125-124 advantage.
But they couldn’t hold it.
As Jason told to NBA.com:
“It’s tough, especially the way we have been playing. If we play like we did tonight, we can win a lot of games.”
WITHOUT SCORING A POINT
Jason had an explosive night, shooting 10-15 from the floor, but the Mavs’ haven’t needed to rely on his scoring to keep the team in the above .500. It’s everything else Jason does so well that really helps the Mavs. The Dallas Morning News wrote:
“
[H]e’s also the kind of player who can dominate a game without scoring a point. He does it with defense. He does it with a steal. He does it by finding teammates with passes that nobody else in the league makes. He does it with smarts, rebounding.”OTHER NOTES
Jason received his Olympic Ring during shoot around Tuesday night.NEXT UP
