Jason returned to the lineup this past Thursday, debuting his new line of footwear in a preseason contest in Detroit.
A well-rested J-Kidd collected 11 points (three-of-three behind the arc), four assists, and three rebounds in 29 minutes, and though Dallas lost, 85-81, all eyes were on his shoes.

No. 2 was sporting yung dong xie for the Chinese company Peak. As reported by the Star-Telegram:
“With the way the game is going global,” Kidd said, “it’s a great opportunity for me from a business standpoint.”
“The lucrative deal stands to make Kidd the most recognizable American athlete in China as he becomes a prime face of Peak’s marketing efforts. He helped design the shoes and will wear a slightly different one during the regular season.”

BACK TO BASICS
Jason also suited up for 26 minutes (five points, two assists) in the 124-109 win over Sacramento Saturday night. J-Kidd had 5 points and 2 assists.
Jason, who has led the Mavs’ to a 4-2 preseason record, will be the go-to guy come November 1st, playing more minutes in the regular season. Head Coach Rick Carlisle, as reported by the DallasNews:
“It helps having two first-ballot Hall of Famers.”
Charley Rosen from Fox Sports echoed that statement:
“Make no mistake, it’s J-Kidd who’s the key player here.”
NEXT UP
First of the last three preseason games in Dallas, No. 2 will suit up against Chicago Tuesday night at 7:30pm.
