The Dallas Mavericks finished off an abbreviated preseason on Friday with a road win that showcased fully what they are capable of.
In what Coach Jason Kidd dubbed the team’s final dress rehearsal, Luka Doncic played 30 minutes and scored 24 points on 9-of-18 from the field and added six assists in a 115-101 win over the Utah Jazz. Tim Hardaway Jr., stepping back into the role he was envisioned in by Coach Kidd before an injury ended his 2021-22 season early, added 20 points on 5-of-7 in 25 minutes off the bench. Dorrian Finney-Smith drained a trio of threes to finish with 11 points and newcomer Christian Wood completed his first Dallas preseason with a 12-point, 10-rebound double-double.
