The Hall has come calling NBA legend Jason Kidd.
On Thursday, December 21, Jason Kidd was announced as a nominee for the Class of 2018 Basketball Hall of Fame. Jason receives this nomination in his first year of eligibility, just four years after he retired from the game, thanks to changes in the enshrinement process that narrowed the waiting period from five years, to four and now three.
In his 19-year career, Kidd was a 10-time All-Star, 2-time Olympic Gold Medalist and won an NBA Championship in 2011 with the Dallas Mavericks. For his career, Jason is ranked third all-time in regular season triple doubles, second in all-time in assists and steals, and remains in the top 10 in three-point field goals made.
Other notable first-timers to receive the nomination include Steve Nash, Ray Allen, Chauncey Billups, Grant Hill and Richard Hamilton. Finalists will be announced in mid-February during NBA All-Star weekend, with the Class of 2018 being unveiled six weeks later at the NCAA Final Four.
