Fresh off his honeymoon, Jason Kidd is headed to Mexico next week for an exhibition involving some of the NBA’s elite.

J-Kidd will be joined by teammate Tyson Chandler, Celtics forward Paul Pierce and Timberwolves forward Kevin Love, among others to play in two games organized by Jason’s former Mavericks teammate Eduardo Najera. Marc J. Spears of Yahoo! Sports first reported the exhibition visit for the NBA stars:
"The two exhibition games will be played in Culiacán on Oct. 6 and Mazatlan on Oct. 8. Najera, Love, Chandler, Kidd and possibly Pierce will also visit Mexico City on Oct. 4 to meet Mexico President Felipe Calderon and businessman Carlos Slim Helu, who is considered the richest man in the world."
The goal of the two-game exhibition is to bring positive attention to Mexico. Najera has also positioned youth clinics during the week to take advantage of the visiting talent from the United States
"It’s always a fun and influential trip," Rasheen Smith, co-organizer of the games with Najera, told Yahoo! "The people of Mexico don’t get to see basketball on this level too often. There will be about 10,000 passionate fans at each exhibition with horns and drums.
"President Calderon wants to show that Mexico is a great place that can safely put on events like this."
