A strong work ethic has been the foundation for a great career for Dallas Mavericks point guard Jason Kidd.

On any given day, Jason can be seen in the weight room getting in a few extra reps or on the court taking a few extra jump shots. He knows more than anyone that effort will take you a long way.

J-Kidd told the Star-Telegram that old-fashioned effort will get the Mavericks out of their slump.

"That will solve everything," Kidd said. "If we can give a better effort, we’ll be in a better position. We would like to win these next two so we can feel good going into the break."

No. 2 put his best effort forth and scored 17 points against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Friday night. He also pitched in seven assists, six rebounds and four steals in the 117-108 loss.

Jason did much of his scoring from the free throw line, where his patented stroke earned him a perfect 7 for 7 from the charity strike. J-Kidd also sunk 4 of 9 shots from the field including two of his five three-pointers.
