Jason Kidd knows there are many ways to contribute to a game besides scoring. He proved that Friday night when he chipped in a team-high nine rebounds and seven assists against the Philadelphia 76ers.

In addition, Jason scored five points and snagged three steals, but the Mavericks fell 92-81. Of his nine rebounds, all of them came on the defensive end and five were grabbed in the third quarter.

JASON HEADS HOME
On Sunday, the Mavericks faced the New York Knicks without J-Kidd, who went back to Dallas for personal reasons.

But Jason’s absence proved to be the only hurdle the Mavericks had to overcome as they crushed the Knicks by 50. The final score, 128-78, was the worst home loss the Knicks have ever suffered.

The Knicks did their best to get J-Kidd in an orange and blue jersey last summer, but No. 2 declined the offer to stay with the Mavericks. New York Knicks president Donnie Walsh respects J-Kidd and his attitude and said he wasn’t able to financially back the trade.

“We weren’t in a good position financially to make it happen. Usually the home team is and they did. And they got a heck of a player. He brings intangibles. He has know-how, experience and he’s a winning type of guy. Those are things we were looking for.”

J-Kidd hopes to join his team in Milwaukee on Tuesday night to face the Bucks at 7:30 p.m. on Fox Sports Network.
