Jason Kidd and the Dallas Mavericks advanced their record to 4-2 in a 129-101 blowout win against the Toronto Raptors Saturday night.
With teammate Josh Howard back on the court after two surgeries, No. 2 sees big things in the future. As he told the Dallas Morning News:
“This is a dangerous lineup for us.”
He also told the Dallas Morning News how he feels about having Howard back.
“It’s always good to get a player like (Howard) back. With Josh, he definitely brings a lot to the table and at the end of the day, he just makes us better.”
J-Kidd, who was accompanied by the dangerous Howard, Dampier, Nowitzki and Marion on the court, chipped in 6 assists, 3 points, a pair of rebounds and a steal.
No. 2 commented to the Star-Telegram on the Mavs’ offense Saturday night.
“We haven’t played well yet offensively, but we’ve won games not shooting the ball well. That’s huge.”
RECORD TRACKER
While the Mavs are busy advancing their record, J-Kidd has been making some advancements of his own.
No. 2 is one steal away from passing Clyde Drexler, No. 6 on the all-time steals list. J-Kidd is sitting at 2,207 career steals.
Jason has collected 49 assists already this season, putting him 87 away from taking the No. 2 spot away from Mark Jackson on the all-time assist list. John Stockton tops both of those lists with 3,265 steals and 15,806 assists in his 19 seasons in the NBA.
