The recognition continues for Jason. Monday, he was named NBA Western Conference Player of the Week for games played between March 30th and April 5th.
It marks the third time No. 2 has received the away as a Maverick. He averaged a NBA-best 13.5 assists, 3.5 boards, 1 steal, and 9.8 points in a week where the Mavs went 3-1.
J-Kidd talked with Dallasbasketball.com about winning the award:.
“I’m honored to win this award in a conference with so many great players, especially point guards. I obviously give a lot of credit to my teammates, who have worked extremely hard as we push toward the playoffs.’’
Included in that playoff push were wins over Minnesota, Miami, and Phoenix. Clearly the star performance was Sunday’s win over the Phoenix Suns, where not only did J.Kidd have 20 assists and 19 points, he also passed Magic Johnson to move into 3rd on the all time assists list..

With a victory, not only can the Mavs clinch a playoff spot, but they can also move into a tie with the Jazz for the seventh spot in the postseason standings.
