Quick hands can alter the course of a possession, or at times, as was the case on Saturday night for Jason, the outcome of a game.
It was No. 2’s defense — not just his vaunted playmaking ability — that was on display during Dallas’ 95-85 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves. J-Kidd had four steals to go with nine points, nine rebounds and seven assists, nearly his 101st triple-double.
Afterward, coach Rick Carlisle was impressed. As he told the Dallas Morning News:
“He had four steals…But it seemed like seven or eight.”
When Kidd pilfered the ball twice in the fourth quarter, it locked up a hard-fought win over Minnesota. Kidd’s swipes, along with four from Jason Terry, kept the Timberwolves from making any legitimate rally in the final minutes. It was another sign of the ways Kidd can help the Mavericks win games.
